                                    28 Tom SawyerAfter a few minutes, Huck said, %u201cLook! Tom%u2019s swimming back to the island.%u201dWhen Tom arrived, he told them, %u201cLast night, I couldn%u2019t sleep. I missedAunt Polly, so I went home, but no one saw me. I heard Aunt Polly and your mom, Joe. They were both very sad. Everyone thinks we%u2019re dead. And they are organising a funeral at the church on Sunday.%u201dHuck and Joe stared at him.%u201cAnd I have a great idea!%u201d Tom told them his plan, and they laughed.Sunday came, and the whole village were at the church for the funeral. Aunt Polly, Sid, Mary, and Joe%u2019s family were all there, and dressed in black. The reverend said nice things about the boys, and everyone cried. Even Becky Thatcher cried.Suddenly, there was a noise at the door. Everyone turned around and saw the three boys%u2014Tom, Joe, and Huck%u2014walking into the church.There was silence for a moment, then Aunt Polly and Joe%u2019s mother ran to them. They hugged and kissed them. Aunt Polly cried and laughed at the same time.%u201cOh, Tom! My boy, you%u2019re alive!%u201d Aunt Polly cried. %u201cI thought I lost you forever!%u201d%u201cNo one came to hug me. I must go,%u201d whispered Huck.But Tom wanted Aunt Polly to hug poor Huck. She gave a big hug to him.The reverend smiled and said, %u201cLet%u2019s sing and be happy!%u201d Everyone sang and laughed.
